This isn't about running JVMs or interpreted code, there are various products that will actually generate iPhone compatible binaries. See: Flash CS5 and Unity3D. Notice that this announcement was made one day before Adobe was to release CS5. It reeks of anti-competitiveness to me.

Steve just decided a couple days before Adobe Creative Suite CS5 was released that in order to write code for the iPhone it has to be written in C, C++, or Objective-C. I don't care how great the iPhone is, this is just ridiculous.

I either middle click tabs to close them or hit CTRL-w. Relying on UIs not to change is silly, every new version of software has a new UI. However, keyboard shortcuts are much more stable and don't change nearly as often. That is why I rely on keyboard shortcuts almost exclusively. I can...

Most likely. When I walk around the area where I live I don't use headphones, talk on the phone, or text. This probably does more for my safety than a handgun ever would. There's an added benefit that I will be more likely to avoid getting hit by a vehicle (which happens quite a bit in crowded...

On the north side of Chicago there was a spat of muggings last summer. CentOS is great for a server OS. I just prefer more up-to-date packages, which is why I use Fedora. Other distros that I have heard good things about recently are OpenSuse and Mandriva, both use KDE by default as well.

It was sarcastic. I doubt moving to KDE would have any effect. You could try using a distro that is more up to date. I prefer Fedora with KDE right now.
