I just don't see how it could ever be possible to create an underwater two way tube from say San Francisco to Sydney. I would much rather fly then take my chances in such a contraption.
OK this may be it:

I ran the Repair doovy, hopefully that fixes the pox ridden thing.
And I use Outlook because it is the only program that will sync with my mobile.
P.S. Thanks Tony :mrgrn:
Well I had to do it. Outlook 2000 was working fine. I hit Office Update. I was contemplating the hassles of downloading Office2k SP3. And then I did it. I put in the Outlook XP (2002) CD into my laptop. And so my troubles began.
Actually I made a serious mistake. I thought I was running...
LOL. I would have to agree with you Coug, overdriving a CRT display will result in a blurry mess. But an LCD running at native resolution with perfect per pixel mapping is another thing altogether. That's not to say that sites such as SR and SF are easy to read at UXGA on a 15". I tried upping...
I've never been able to make a DVD Video disc with Nero that will playback on my X-Box. Exact same files, burned with RecordNow DX, work fine. I used to love Nero for CD burning, but I have my doubts re DVD.
Hypermicro.com
Sony 500A in external firewire case.
DVD-R: I've had good results with the Lead Data 1x (which actually burns at 2x) - now $79 for a spindle of 100, they were $69, the Ritek G03 (2x rated) which they don't sell anymore, and the Ritek 4x ($1.89 each) which work well, albeit...
From bensbargains.net:
At 5400RPM, do not expect this drive to be a performance leader. However, it does score highly on "quiet" points in most reviews. Amazon's price is $115 with free shipping
Seems OK if you don't want the hassles of rebates.
The problem with driving a rental car is that you would sadly have to remain somewhat sober during a day when you should hardly be able to stand up straight from all the drunken debauchary. Get someone else to drive.
No the P4-M 1.6 GHz is a true slug. I can only dream of what a 2.4 would be like. I would upgrade the CPU in my i8200 myself, but might as well wait for the 8500's with WUXGA to come down in price :)
Looks like the P-Mobile is simply a hotted up P3-M, hardly the "built from the groun-up"...
Not on any PC laptop. All a matter of BIOS support I guess. If only those Adaptec SCSI PC Card controllers were cheaper (and LVD capable). An X15-36LP would speed my lappy up considerably.
Indeed. Now that this fantasy of Aborigine freedoom fighters roaming the streets of sunny Lonnie have been put to rest, it appears the poor chap has ignored the facts and gone drooling at the mouth about Malta of all places.
I don't understand why they don't include it in the WAP itself? Are they admitting that the range is crap and that you need to buy another part to make it function properly?
I have to turn of the dual athlon when I go to bed, the noise of the dual Delta 7000 rpms will not permit rest. The laptop I sometimes leave on as the noise is not disturbing.
The software in consideration is the $50 XP Pro collectors edition with baseball bullC#### that a lot of us obtained. Never been used since I got my lubbly Action Pack sub.
Interestingly tonight I went out to dinner and the count of who was for "give peace a chance" and who was "blow that mofo up no matter what the cost" was about 7 to 1. Everyone was a US citizen except me and a chick who was born in Niguragua. The majority thought Saddam was a bad bastard indeed...
Of course Fry's does have it's Internet arm, Outpost.com, which IIRC you took advantage of when they had the WD 1200AB's for $109 without rebates :) I only got two but you got four?
High rez is always good, unless you are trying to look at SF or SR and the frigging code won't scale with the font size option in IE. Then you are begging for eye surgery. For image editing and DVD viewing it would be magnificent. And most importantly, it offers higher rez than the newest Mac...
I'd love one to replace my Inspiron 8200 UltraSharp UXGA 15" lappy.
The cost is rather high. But it will display full HDTV rez, not bad at all. And USB 2 finally. 2GB of ram support. Weighs slightly less than the i8200. Only thing missing is a DVI video connector instead of the normal VGA. And...
Anyone else's folding client "redownload" the facore recently? Mine just did on all clients that returned work. But the download was instant (i.e looking on the disk?)
I believe the task of the US military is to do what the CinC tells them.
And it's true that war is good for big business (the debt of war being put on the evergrowing deficit pile of course). If the cost of petrol hits the $3-$4 dollar per gallon mark people won't be able to fill their guzzling...
It's ironic that currently the US administration is trying to bully the Turkish parliament (the sole Islamic democracy?) into voting to allow all that military equipment sitting offshore to be unloaded and used in the war. Threatening to withdraw billions in aid etc. Jeez if it was just a...
I've got one x15 mkI and two x15-36LPs. I can't figure out what to get next. I have two hot swap slots waiting to be filled. Perhaps just a 250GB 5400rpm IDE for mass storage in a Firewire case.
The best thing about all the war talk is that the Aussie dolla has reached a 3 year high to the US dolla. Of course tourism is going to hit the skids when the tanks roll in on Bangdad so it's a double edged sword.
its.fubar, do you mind telling us what country you are from and what you first...
I noticed that the Orinoco supports 802.1x security, including EAP with MD5. Sounds like they finally sorted out security problems? Anyone have experience with it?
I had EDO working in my FP Pentium 66 (fdiv bug intact) mobo (tho it did blue screen everyday I think there were other serious problems (such as me installing the AT power connectors with the black wires on the outside!)
Anyone know of an external Firewire enclosure that supports >127GB HDDs? I've got a spare 80GB drive to put in one right now, but would like an enclosure that could run a 250GB when the prices come down. TIA.
OK I see the drive at CC. Tempting price. Reading some of the reviews they say that to use it via Firewire you need to buy the proprietary Firewire cable/adaptor doodad? Does that mean that out of the box it is USB capable only?
Try under Tools->Internet Options-> Security. Perhaps it is default set to Restricted or something like that.
One thing I have found is that sometimes .Net Server will lose Internet connectivity. I have to delete, then recreate the Network connection and it goes away happy again for a few days...
