How do you get rid of the stupid Macromedia Flash pop-up?

Hmm I wonder if that means that the price of Dreamweaver etc wil be dropping when MS aquires it and perhaps rebrands it as Frontpage 2003?

Hardware innovations you'd like to see become mainstream

There is already AGP Pro 50 and 110. Of course not many of the cheaper mobos have them. Did anyone see the Doctor Tommys review of the gayfarce FX 5800 Ultra. Apparently uses upto 80W! and it sounds like a vacuum cleaner to boot. Oh and you lose the first PCI slot to the gigantic heatsink/blower...

Super Bowl: Raiders vs. Tampa Bay

Yesterday I sadly had to remain sober throughout the day due to driving duties. I also spent an hour in f##### freezing conditions plowing the driveway. Then I had to drive about an hour on icy roads to pick up pizza etc. When I got back it was already a 20-3 whitewash at half time. Then the...

    Pricewatch down?

I would think that if it is cyberwarfare then the worm would attempt to delete or modify the data. It looks like the major problem is just the amount of traffic being generated. If people had patched the 6 month old vulnerability it wouldn't have been a problem.

    Sony Leaving the CRT Market

Given the atrocious picture quality of my Sony E540, I can only see this move as a good thing. And with the Dell 20" 2000FP for about $900, things are not really all that expensive. It will be interesting to see what Dell's new yet to be released offering is priced at (my thoughts are that it...

Super Bowl: Raiders vs. Tampa Bay

Can anyone link me to the actual rules of American Football? No one I have ever met knows all of them, last night the third quarter with Oakland took frigging forever. Some players are "eligible" to receive the ball and others aren't? Any game that has what, 9 referees?, is grossly...

I thought TV couldn't get any worse

If you don't mind spending about US$75 per season (and what is that afterall to a true Buffy fan) , you could order Season 4 and 5 of Buffy from Australia. I've shopped at www.ezydvd.com.au with no probs. The UK version from Amazon.co.uk is even more costly. I ended up getting Season 5 from the...

I thought TV couldn't get any worse

Hmm I was just thinking about Buffy myself. Unfortunately in the States it is now being run on UPN, so I don't get to see the latest episodes. Arghh! At least I have seasons 1-5 on DVD (regions 4 and 2), USA is only up to Season 3 due to that damn syndication. I find Third Watch to be quite...

    PC sound system

Well there are two 6.1 formats for the home, Dolby Digital EX which creates a rear center channel via matrixing the left and right rears, and DTS-ES Discrete which has a discrete rear channel. I'm using a Pioneer VSX-D811S which decodes both and it sounds great. Plus you should be able to get...

How bloody long should an XP domain logon take?

If the FSB of the P60 was 60MHz, then what was the PCI bus speed? Surely still 33MHz? I had the 486 DX-50 and the P66, what a frigging waste of money the P66 was. Tho the gold die cap looked pretty cool.

Also it is interesting that a one month prescription of Zyrtec costs about US$100 in the States, whereas in Australia it can be had over the counter, for about AUS$15 (US$8). Price gouging anyone? No wonder US health insurance premiums are insanely high.

I'm using a Conexant (made by APC) 900VA UPS. It signals the OS via serial cable, appearing as an APC BackUPS. The dual athy, laptop, Dell 2000FP and Sony 21" sit on it. It has two sockets on cords to prevent plug pack hogging of the other sockets. Works good.
