Not yet, right now the season is only open for bowhunters, the regular season starts in about 3 weeks. The deer here are big, and there is massive overpopulation., which leads many to die from starvation. Lot's of people driving into them, can cause a lot of damage, not to mention deaths when...

    "Fleet computer challenge"

Well I had two FA311's, and on my TYAN TigerMP, the use of either would cause only one CPU to be detected, followed by a POST screen f###-up. You will note that I used the term 760MP :) I contacted Netgear support and they said they would exchange for FA310's. I ended up selling both to someone...

    "Fleet computer challenge"

The Netgear 311 is a shite card, it has known compatibility probs with AMD machines, the 760MP chipset in particular. The 310 is the Tulip based card, much better compatibility (tho apparently not supported under .Net Server)

Recommendations on good books to read

I agree Tony, Sum of All Fears is one of his best. The movie is quite good too, tho it can't compare to the imagination in this case. To think that if the guy who was building the bomb wasn't killed early, World War III would have begun. And the tank battle in the streets of Germany. Fantastic!

The carriers can indeed cruise around for a couple of years flat out, the problems is that most of the escort ships that comprise a carrier battle group are still gas powered, and therefore need to be supplied on route.

Anything by Matthew Reilly for pure action. The new Tom Clancy is OK, not as good as his previous ones tho IMHO. Tony, have you seen the LOTR movie? It is very good.

Nero or etc for Sony 24X burner

If the OEM copy is otherwise identical to the retail copy, then what is the problem? Nero have got the money for their OEM copy, and your client gets a version of Nero that actually works on his drive. Morally you can sleep soundly at night.

Really, really stupid error messages of our time

Bugbear is no different from many other viruses, people still have to be stupid enough to run the .scr, .exe, .pif etc. Though if they are running an elderly version of OE/Outlook, then the auto preview could infect them automagically. Outlook 2002 by default will not let you open an executable...

    Securing a domain name

In hosting terms, a parked domain is usually one that "shares" the same IP as another domain you have (a "virtual domain"). A virtual domain has it's own IP address. Gotta love Dell for their Inspiron 8200 deal of this week.

I'm happy with my i8200 (p4 1.6, 384MB ddr, 32mb gf4 440, 15" ultrasharp, 8x combo drive, 40gb) That is an excellent price for that spec. Perhaps a pricing error, I would order one right away. Honestly the p4 is a such a slow POS FPU wise, that a 2GHz is definitely not worth the premium over...

    Need monitor recommendation

Yes I have UXGA on a 15" laptop LCD too. Looks great. The point being that an LCD has a fixed native resolution, and a number of pixels to match. Digital camera

Once I've downloaded, I just format the Microdrive in the camera. I find this is far faster than deleting all images. Actually I had 32KB of bad clusters the other day, a chkdsk and scandisk marked them as bad and now it seems to be working OK, only lost one picture.

I find the biggest problem with transferring hundreds of pics from Microdrive via USB is that it sucks the batteries dry pretty quick. For large transfers I use a PC Card adaptor, it's a little quicker as well.

    What's a good photo printer?

It will be interesting to see what Dell brings to the market. It has chosen Lexmark as it's supplier, ditching HP, and will soon have it's own line of Dell branded printers. If they can provide good value in inkjet carts they could really put the pressure on Epson, Canon and HP.
