Idea: Mounting Rail for Bicycle Stem

I was referring to the heat of welding itself introducing micro-fractures into parts bearing your weight. For the life of me I can't understand why you would be willing to make permanent changes and devalue your equipment with welds or epoxy rather than using a clamp.

Idea: Mounting Rail for Bicycle Stem

Be careful welding to the thin walls of the handle bars or stem. The heat is almost guaranteed to weaken the metal. You could use rubber wrap (anti-rotation) and Velcro straps to mount an accessory rail.

:) Take 2. Mark! Action! I used my original foam tips off and on for over 5 years with the compression/expansion method and the comply tips seem to be better quality. I only end up using them 3-4 times a month. SD, you get a much better seal with the compression/expansion method.

I suggest going with the mid-range for shoes and pedals. Make sure particular manufacturers will work with your body before splurging. There are several brands of shoes I can't wear and several pedals hurt the knees.
