My wife (who works for Canon) has had a succession of printers that print CD labels. All of the Pixma range do it. The included utility (on the printer driver disk) is easy to use. Place CD in tray, place tray in slot—much like using the straight paper/card path on a laser—print! I initially...

No, I do get what you are saying, I just don't agree with it for reasons I've outlined. I second what Tannin said in the post above, and especially about the increased (note the emphasis) spending on the WoT. I would add that there is probably room for some increase, but not the huge increases...

Heh! I get that way watching Babylon 5--Christopher Franke (who did the score) used to be in Tangerine Dream. I downloaded the trailers, my soon-to-be 5 year old daughter thinks it's cool and I wanted to see if it would be suitable for her--no, I don't think it will be, but the trailer makes...

Radeon 7000 hangs, is this because of DirectX9?

Could it be a Codec problem? GSpot (small download) will tell you if you have the codecs on your system to play back a stream. If it says no, you can download all-in-one codec packs from a number of sites, www.free-codecs.com or something similar. I'm sure Mercutio will have more to say on...

It shouldn't be that hard in the first place. I aspire to write software that "good". I can't believe people get paid to write crap like that. Merc's encounter with "Tech Support" reminds me why I dislike Apple/Dell/HP/Microsoft et. al. Their "help" is not very helpful.

    Best movie you've seen

With two young ones, we don't get out much anymore. Saw The Constant Gardner yesterday. Powerful stuff. Lots of messages, but nothing too blatant--it allows you to make up your own mind. A good thriller. Rachel Weisz was brilliant, and if you only saw her in The Mummy, you'll be surprised...

I forgot to add, Intel's behaviour with only running x87 or SSE code if a non-Intel CPU is detected is IMHO morally suspect.
