No, but when she sees that I spent considerably more at Newegg than the $400-600 I quoted her, I'll have some explaining to do. Even now, she's not completely comfortable with spending that kind of money, as am I now that I think about the marginal gain going from from E7200.

Right now I'm in love with my two 2.5" 1 TB Toshiba Canvio drives - they've never given me any trouble, even when copying stuff that totaled ~900 GB in size, nor when I've set CrashPlan to backup to them continuously.

I was going for relatively inexpensive and easy. This drive was not easy.

Allow me to clarify - the Seagate drive would have been a single copy of all my data. I would otherwise have had another copy sitting on internal WD Caviar Green drives, a copy on CrashPlan, and selected things on external Toshiba drives and even across my network on my wife's PC and the HTPC.

I noticed more difficulty hitting 4.7+ GHz when I went from 2x4 GB to 4X4 GB sticks. Makes no sense to me since P67 boards (and I presume Z68) can keep the memory at nominal speeds even with varied (multiplier) overclocks.
