    Took a chance

The Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro is probably the best value for an LGA775 heatsink. It isn't near of the cooling prowess of the category leaders like the Thermalright Ultra120 Extreme, but it's cheap, relatively quiet and a lot better than the stock Intel heatsink. It isn't too heavy either...

    Tech-report reviews the 750GB Caviar

Eugene posted a review of the same 750GB WD drive a few days ago. It is the second-fastest Western Digital drive in SR benchmarks, second to the 150GB Raptor. It lags the 1TB Hitachi by a good margin though.

    Phenom B2 stepping hits 2.8GHz.

That's what I read on a French site. I have no idea if the source is reliable or not. If true, AMD is in business. A 2.8GHz Phenom X4 will beat anything Intel will be able to push to the market until the end of the year. The timing will be crucial for AMD though. Phenom has to ship not too...

My own E6400 can't overclock at all on my GigaByte GA-965-DS3. I have 2GB of OCZ Gold 800MHz DDR2. I don't know why, but the system won't even boot if I try to run the CPU over the stock speed. I have the F11 BIOS flashed on the GigaByte board. With a 2.76GHz E6420 with twice the amount of...

    New Cases Coming Out?

Power supplies are a lot less efficient at 10% or 20% load than they are between 30% and 80%. The 1200W toy would be a waste for an average computer and certainly a lot less efficient for anything else than the most powerful gaming rig. Even an AMD FX-74 with HD2900XT in Crossfire wouldn't...

Thanks for taking the time to make the P35 motherboard list, Wavemaker. Out of the 16 boards, the MSI Neo2-FSR packs a lot of features for the price. The Gigabyte boards are expensive. Asus boards too. 135$ seems like the bottom price to get a good board with decent overclocking features. I...

Seasonic M12-700W. It is noisier than the Energy Plus models, but it is quieter than almost anything else in this power range and it has modulable cables. Efficiency is upward to 80 percent too. If you can wait, Seasonic is about to release a newer model and IIRC, the efficiency is supposed...

    Looking for a uATX case

I was sure the NSK3300 uses an SFX power supply. If it ever breaks, Seasonic makes an excellent 300W PSU in that form factor too. It is easy to service (SFX power supplies are normally retained by only two screws).

    Why C.A.F.E Standards are Dumb

I think law makers should be pushing bio-diesel instead of ethanol. Bio-diesel is easier to produce, is less damageable for the environment, works in more fuel-efficient diesel engines and could be cultivated inland. I read something about a new type of culture that allows to grow...

I must be thick, but I don't get it. Read that guide. Vista has to be activated within 30 days before it goes nuts. Activation delay can be rearmed three times. So let say you have 30 days free, then you need to rearm once (+30 days), then a second time (+30 days) and you're allowed to rearm...
