It's licensing hell no matter what we do. The mandate is to get two machines in two different datacenters with full failover so that the whole stupid thing can operate on one out of four nodes. All of this is coming from one person overpromising on availability to someone who is really, really...

    Small case build

Having now tried it, 4k on a GTX970 is not very impressive, but you get a lot of time to appreciate the details of each individual frame. The GTX750Ti is extremely capable at 1280x720 and max detail. At 1920x1080, almost everything intensive I can try drops below 25fps. On the other hand, this...

It's telling that the project isn't based on Mozilla software, but I still see Chromium-based browsers as having very limited privacy controls and a weak addon ecosystem regardless. Adblock Plus "Malware Domains" filter sub breaks YouTube

I've seen a couple videos that included a "Hey, if you like this, watch what I do on Youtube Red!" Microsoft Storage Spaces vs. RAID Level

That's a new one, but I've not tried Server 2016 yet. You might find that it's easier to work with Powershell than doing things through the GUI. The Server Management UI is weirdly half-baked for making Storage Pools.

Synology DSM 4.3 upgrade to DSM 5.0

I went around and did OS updates on my few Synology boxes after Heartbleed became a known issue, but mine are all just stand-alone NASes that only talk to client PCs. I pulled the drives before I did the OS update as standard practice. I don't remember having any issues.
