OK, my next point of interest: My Thinkpad has a 320GB drive partitioned as 50/50/200something GB. I was planning to have it share between Windows 7 and Server 2008, and to locate the Documents and related profile folders on the 200GB partition. In XP or Vista, relocating the Documents folder...

I cannot believe that Microsoft can't get something as simple as a fucking file copy to work properly. XP will be supported by everything for at least another four or five years, but windows games will move to DX10 in that time, and major security software will probably ditch it in that...

... and just to piss me off even more, another explorer window shows that the files are nearly completely copied, but the file copy dialog still shows 0 items have completed and I have 13 hours to go. I wonder how long the box will stay up? Also, the "Send Feedback" button appears to be broken...

    Windows 7

Windows 7 is presently showing that it is going to take 14 hours to copy 36GB of files from an external 7200rpm USB drive to my Thinkpad . And, in case you are all wondering, it has shown this for the last 20 minutes, and has only decremented the counter by about 17 minutes in that time.

    Seagate 7200.11 drives failing

If you're dealing with a Jmicron controller the problem isn't that the controller is on the secondary interface, it's that the Jmicron chip routes IDE connectivity through USB rather than directly to the southbridge as traditional IDE controllers do.

WD to launch 2TB drives, lose data

Sporting a 2000GB capacity and an unrivaled lack of reliability, the WD20EADS will cost $300 and all of your precious memories in the form of digital photos and videos when it invariably dies. It's also a "power saving" (read: slow) green model, which is just WD's little kiss off to those...

Probably not. I know some scifi fangirls who deeply enjoy all the man-on-man makeouts, and I think it's high time that ladies get to join men in support for exploitative homoerotisism, but on the balance I think BBC-produced Science Fiction needs to be skipped as a general rule. Blake's 7 was...

The very fact that you've written about the show at all is enough to remind me of this guy, and the only associations I have are extremely negative. From what I saw of the show, the plots were cheesy, the acting was terrible, and the prop and set budgets must have somehow involved very...

I never use the hard keyboard on my HTC6800. I bring up the OSD and type with my finger or the stylus.
