Well, hey, if we're going there... Everyone remember the tender love scene from "Fight Club"? Neither do I. But Helena Bonham-Carter (Marla) had this to say after a roll in the hay with Brad Pitt (Tyler Durden): "I haven't been fucked like that since grade school." Which is, to my way of...

Dell PCs are complete and utter crap

No, I'm quite certain I have some old computer magazines - PC Magazine or Byte, maybe - that have PC's Limited advertisements. I remember thinking that the owner was an idiot for letting that typo go out in all his ads... until I saw an article that indicated that the name was, in fact, correct.

    regarding half.com

I've used Half.com for three or four years. Mostly to buy CDs (rarely) and DVDs (much more often). Half.com is a good way to get legit copies of DVD sets that cost way too much at MSRP ($99 for an X-files season? I'll wait and get it on half.com) And I can't say I've had a problem.

For $40, if it lets me connect a set of real, non-sucky speakers to a computer, I think I'm OK with whatever I get. Since I've been making proclaimations about things that I like and sincerely believe are worth time and money, I thought I'd point out a few comic book series. Comics, as a rule...

NEWZ: Barracuda 7200.9 *500* GB Series

Lunar, I think I'd go with option #2, from the choices you list. I just don't have a high opinion of Maxtor drives these days. I don't have a terribly high opinion of Seagate, either, but in this case I think it's the lesser of the two evils.

Yeah, actually. Actual gay guys tend to like MEN. People with hair in places I don't care to think about, defined muscles and gruff voices. Those aren't exactly common traits in 12 or 14-year-olds. Whereas, a pedophile probably isn't worried about sexual characteristics of his/her victim -...

    Religious Faith and Society

I think the more disturbing issue is the automatic assumption that a gay priest - a gay anybody - is automatically assumed to be at fault or more likely to abuse little kids. That's just deeply ignorant thinking. Maybe even more ignorant that banning a certain kind of priest for having a subset...

Dell canada's computer prices have skyrocketed.

As I recall, Dell's 2nd Quarter results were abysmal. I think they might've even posted a loss on earnings. There was a sharp downward trend, which is what happens when you sell at a loss and try to make up for it on volume. I'm not 100% sure the coupons are going away, but the $400 computer...

I have a couple of the Syba cheapies as well. They're a fine way to add storage without RAID. They use the same chip as the $60 adaptec card. I wouldn't say that's an endorsement of Syba's card, but rather that it might be a mark against a $60 Adaptec card.

I suspect that the deficiency in the subjects of rhetoric and composition has more to do with the "one size fits all" education that seems to have been implemented for Baby Boomers. My grandmother writes that way - long, flowing, almost poetic letters, as does my eldest aunt (born 1936). My...
