    Computer Loving Porn Star

Asia Carrera went to Rutgers on a full academic scholarship. Dropped out after her first year. She's a mensan (not that it's a big deal. pre-1995 SATs scores over 1350 qualify you, too). Supposedly, she wants to get away from performing by age 30. I think she's 28 or 29 now. Asia has made some...

    Disturbing find about Google

    1. This site squeezes "Alltheweb" in a few more times than I might think healthy, particularly for a search engine that almost no one uses. I've used it. It's spiffy. So is altavista, so is inktomi. None of them perform the same way google does. I'd really like to see what kind of relationship...

    Boot from external USB2 drive?

My expert advice is that it more than likely isn't possible. Under some circumstances, booting off USB is possible, but you need support at the BIOS and device level. I've seen boot support on keychain drives but not on any USB(2) hard disks. Sorry. :(

No more development on IE according to Microsoft.

Guess if you want IE 8, you'll have to constantly update with Windows Update. I more-or-less figured this was coming. It's really hard to get a standalone IE install right now, anyway (you can make your own with the IEAK, and that's about it). Since support for Windows 98 ends at the end of...

Mark, I question the reliability of drives held in rails rather than bolted directly to a case. Of course, you forgot the "Mercutio" option (although I might not be the only one in sub-28.8-land). I don't care for them. Drive rails suck (part of the reason I'm not big on Antec also), their PSUs are loud and I always seem to be able to find the bits inside their cases that aren't finished. Better than Premier, not as nice as Aopen, Antec or Compucase.
