I have a pair of Sony noise-cancelling headphones that work OK for the two times a year I want headphones for something. They aren't Sennheisers but noise cancellation works REALLY well for computers and fans and air conditioners.

The enterprise version is considerably more expensive than Visio or Visio technical.

I'm almost positive there are better programs out there than goldwave - which likes to use a temp file VERY heavily - but I'll bet if you look there are a couple of packages designed to clean up analog recordings.
