Any SCO pros out there? Need to bypass a login...

Subject says it all. This was our estimating software last century, and it would be awful nice to get some data out of it. The system (a 450Mhz with 128MB RAM) boots fine, but no one can remember the login details. We aren't even certain about the user name. Help? Thanks!

As do I. But I suppose it depends on the failure rate which is more effective. Considering I've only had a half-dozen bad DIMMs in the last decade it hasn't been worth it for me.

This. I've been at a loss to explain how I can have strong opinions about policy and be so unenthusiastic about politics and voting. I don't think there is a single sentence in here that I disagree with. It isn't leaning either way, it just pisses on the whole process. Which is really what I...

My main problem with a fully automated army is that it is only a good hack away from a military coup. Others mention that if no one on our side dies in a war the public won't be opposed. I think the money is enough of a deterrent at this point. The other thing we need to do is get better at...

Troop casualties suck, but they are nothing compared to the cost of a wounded soldier for the rest of their life. I've heard estimates of $1M each. Tomahawks are still stupid expensive in comparison, but UAVs with dumb munitions can be very cost effective.

I was under the impression that the point of wars were to take out or stop the people making the decisions we disagreed with. The only reason we killed all those poor slobs on the way was because we didn't have another method. I'd rather not kill everyone else, and in the process lose many of...

Cool name, awesome ship. More important to me than reducing the number of ships is to massively reduce the number of personnel; I don't think the military (or the population at large) really appreciates how much additional cost each set of "boots on the ground" has over their lifetime. Fewer...

I've only ever seen a bent pin on a product bought at Fry's electronics. And that was on something manhandled by some other customer and then returned. Did the board have the black plastic protector clipped over the socket? I wouldn't accept one without that. It also sounds like the entire...

I have a bunch of the "horizontal" heatsinks. One of the thoughts against them is that the components around the CPU on the motherboard could use some cooling themselves (MOSFETS, other power handling bits, RAM, etc). So lately I've been going with larger top-down designs myself. Of course...
