I have one of these laptops and have installed XP on it. Got all the drivers running except the audio, I can't find what type of audio hardware it runs listed anywhere! The chipset is GM965, and UAA is installed. I've been searching for hours, and haven't been this frustrated in quite some time.

I run around with a 4GB Extreme III card in the camera and a 2GB Ultra II card as a spare. I've never had to switch to the spare. 70GB is a lot of shots, what type of photography encourages that? Sports?

There is still haze from the waves, and some glare off the right-side (sun was at about the 2:30 position, low on the horizon). I had the lens hood installed and IIRC my hand was extending it on that side. I don't have any filters, nor do I know how to use them. Looks like I have some more...

Nope. That is nearly full-size. You can check the "all sizes" button to see what the native res of a picture is, I upload them full-size.

I know it uses more power when it is on (I saw that show, too). The argument I read was that it "killed" the bulb faster to turn it off/on more than just leave it on.

Grrr. Looking at some of the others, there is a lot of dirt on the lens. Strangely, it is only on a certain location/lens combo, and not on ones taken afterwards with the same lens.

Looking closer at it, I can see what you mean. I think the horizon isn't level, either. Simple as it is, this is my favorite so far.

Based on my few-dozen experiences with Amtrak, I would rule out that possibility right now. The fact that it can be an hour late and still be a net-positive makes it a good choice though.

Just got home from the trip. 750 miles in the last 4 days, about 1000 pictures (of which I like maybe 8).

I use the one built-in to my laptop, but a friend uses a TomTom and is very happy with it. I have a Garmin model (Rhino-something) for my boat and it works well. What are you going to use it for? Driving? Hiking? Sailing?

Also, from what I've heard, power cycling is way more of a factor than power-on hours. Some analysis stated that if you were going to turn the light on again within an hour, you should just leave it on (from a bulb-life standpoint, not energy consumption).

If you look to the server boards, you can find 12. These cost more than the board+controller, though.

Just disabling UAC goes a long way to cleaning up the user experience. It doesn't break many things, either.

That is why you need to backup all your data, even the stuff that is hosted elsewhere. Hell, having a copy of these forums wouldn't be a bad idea...
