I know someone from this group was running an IDE drive on a SCSI card with some type of adapter. I'd like to get more details on this. I'd like to eliminate some of the cabling in my case if possible so if I can run my 80GB Cuda on the same LVD cable as my X15, I'd be happy as a PIS.
Anybody...
I can run the set-up program if I set it to WIn98/Me compatibility mode, but once the installation of the VPN client gets started, it craps out with some error message... Good idea though....

I would like to install a VPN client on my machine so I can connect to my work network and check Lotus Notes etc. WHen I went to install the VPN client, it failed to install stating the client did not support dual CPU workstations.
Is there a way to make it work? I've heard the term CPU...
It sounds to me like the overall opinion in this thread is that buffer size is irrelevant. I totally disagree with this line of thinking.
I don't think of the buffer on these drives as merely a data reservoir can be used to store data on a FIFO basis in order for the data pump (the drive...
Our plant is to pop a little one out of the oven around this time next year.....

Maybe I can create a Clocker Jr. ID and post some stories from a kids perspective....I can read it now...

The two contacts on the bridge that need to be connected (to convert to MP from XP) are in the last column of the two rows of the L5 bridge (as I'm sure you know). So, instead of just directly connecting the bridge across the laser pit, I just made a curved trace with the pencil that went...
Tiger MPX with fixed USB and dual Athlon XPs (one old one new). I had to do the No.2 pencil trick on one of the XPs. They seem to be working fine.

ECC is different than registered right?
I'm replacing this with some ECC Registered memory. I don't believe this memory is ECC (that's why I never mentioned it) so let me double check the numbers when I get home (during lunch, 2.5 hours from now).

If you want to see it with the new chipset cooler, check it out below. No way I'll accept active cooling if I can avoid it!

I ran my 1700+ at 2000+ (FSB overclock) for a while (2-3 weeks) when I first got it with no problems. I didn't really notice a difference in feel so I dropped it back down to 1700+.
Never unlocked my XPs to try to play with the multiplier although I just used the No.2 pencil trick to convert...
Works great. In excellent condition. THe threads for the motherboard stand-offs need to be cleaned up a bit (got a little glue on them per their installation instructions) but otherwise in perfect condition.
Latest version with the helicoid pins. Goes on the 'net for $50 + shipping new...
I should have most if not all the cables and stuff that came with this board.
I pulled off the stock heatsink/fan chipset cooler and replaced it with a massive 1" tall passive heatsink (and thermal goop).
I guarantee no DOA. Great board. More info here...
These DIMMS are in perfect condition and I guarantee no DOA. I will sell the separately if you only want one.

WHen the installer came over, he said the Network admins (or whoever those guys are) have 4mb upload & 4mb download at their homes using cable. Woulden't THAT be nice....

Actually, I already have the NIC in my posession. It is indeed very cool looking!!
THe only problem with it is that I need a cable/dsl router that supports 10/100/1000. Either that or I guess I connect the gigaswitch to a port on my router so my two machines can talk over gig-E. Of course...
My Tyan Tiger MPX board will arrive on Monday :-)
I bought this Netgear GA620T gigabit 64-bit/66mhz NIC in anticipation of buying an MPX board w/o onboard LAN but I ended up getting the Tiger MPX anyway. Nonetheless, I have this NIC and it looks COOL. Never had a NIC with THREE heatsinks on...
I think I just had one with 99 positions. Is that what the numbers are that scroll down the command prompt window just before it really starts crunching?
