After I installed my new D-link 655, I noticed that a bad URL typed into my browser (Chrome or IE) would bring up a Yahoo search through www1.dlinksearch.com. I can't even figure out what this is called. Is this a function of my DNS server? How do I change it to something other than Yahoo...

Is Amazon still charging more for items that you've been looking at? I seem to recall a few years back that if you were looking at books on a particular topic, they would increase the price on those books slightly.

I regularly email myself either via my work address or Gmail and send it to both addresses; works great. I prefer to talk to myself over email.

Just got back from Ohio - whew! I was asking about NICs because I thought my wife's PC only had a 10/100 onboard NIC. Now that I'm home, I've realized that it is indeed a 10/100/1000 adapter, just like mine. Also, I'm on a cable connection.

Anybody have a suggested gigabit NIC? Preferably one that I can use in XP, Win7, and Linux? Any reason to favor a gigabit NIC that sits on a PCI-e versus PCI bus? I may be interested in doing large-ish backups afterall.

She's coming from XP. I'll run the checker program but she uses most of what I use, which works fine in Win7. Even our multifunction Brother printer is Win7 certified.
