Stupid question? Doesn't VM Player support USB/LPT pass through? Couldn't you just install XP in a VM, and tell the VM guest to use the scanner as needed? I know Virtual Box supports USB pass through (use it all the time), but I'm sure VM Ware supports it as well for both USB and parallel...

Sol10 does support VNICs, but lack the virtual switching, routing and link throttling that possible with crossbow. BTW, the T4-4 gets you a unified 2TB of memory space... something that the blade setup lacks. (Mind you I would take the blade setup over a T4-4 anyday).
