Intel i960 single channel, AMI, Perc/2, raid cards? Any good

I don't know if this is true for other SCSI controllers, since all I buy is Adaptec (it's a name thing, the same reason I stick with RedHat for Linux installations), but on Adaptec cards, any controller with the same chipset will share the same IRQ. I've seen machines with a pair of 2940s and a...

    Root Beer

When I was in Cub Scouts, a looooonnnnggg time ago, one of the things we did was make root beer. It was pretty cool. I don't remember much, but we did have to harvest saspirilla (leaves, I think) to do it.

    Who's a Daddy? Who's a Daddy?

My grandmother has your dad beat, GMac. Her oldest today is 67, her youngest only 29 (or maybe 30. Either way it's pretty bad). It's weird that I have cousins with kids older than my youngest aunt.

Is there a way to shut up Jason for a while?

There's an email address I know Jason actually reads upwards in this thread. It's something like jehh@vzavenue.net. Or something like that. I think it's his personal, ISP-provided address.

James, I'd still like to know what you did that I didn't. I tried precompiled. I tried rolling my own. I used a default smb.conf and one I made by hand. I tried three different versions of samba even. I never got so much as a connection.

I asked. They said no. I'm not going to pursue it, even though I see students using those machines for a lot of dumber things (most of the machines have winmx, kazaa and some of the other programs that install adware on them, and run those programs on startup. I want to fix it but the hardware...

It'll probably be longer than that before mainstream computing needs 128-bits. 64bits represents an awful lot of data (18446744073709551616 is the largest number you can represent. Obviously that's quite a large number.). 128 bits gets you 3.4x10^38. There you're getting in to "as many particles...
