    Two routers in-line?

Just a little follow-up. I went over their house to check on the wireless router, and discovered that it contained a yellow sticker that said "Don't install this untill you read the instructions". Behind this yellow sticker were 4 wired ports. The unit is a Belkin model 54g. I took the manual...

    Double-click *.zip fil > Print

Okay, I didn't have a "delete' button available. It said something about a custom config I had. So I clicked the "Restore defaults" button. THEN I had the 'Advanced' button available. Which allowed me to reset things after a few tries. Thx for the help.

Not sure how this got screwed up, but the default double-click setting for my zip files is now "Print". Normally this is "Open". How do I change this setting back to "Open". Thanks. WXP SP2

    New CD not being recognized

Yes, what Tannin said, exactly. Misery loves company. Yes, you can still read/access the files on the new CD fine. It's just that the volume name doesn't change. The problem is that an installer program that contins more than one CD (such as a game) will look at that volume name. If it sees...

    New CD not being recognized

The Plextor came with a tool set, called PlexTools. That's the only "CD" thingie installed. Maybe it has put a wall, so to speak, between the burner & Windows. ??

    New CD not being recognized

Yeah, jumpers seem to be set correctly: 1. primary master = boot drive (seagate 120gb 7200.7) 2. secondary master = cd-rom.burner (plextor premium) no other ide devices. yes, you can "see" a cdrom if/when you boot, but not when swapping. if you reboot with a different cd, it will see the...

    New CD not being recognized

Yeah, the freaks. I'm sure they'll have a answer. I don't think it's related to copy-protection tho, cuz it happens even with CDs that aren't copy protected .. ones that I make myself.

    New CD not being recognized

I can burn just fine. That's not the problem. The problem is that Windows sees the previous disc (#1) even tho the new one (#2) is inserted into the drive. Which affects the ability to install multi-cd programs.

    New CD not being recognized

Hi. Happy new year. A friend has a new CD burner (Plextor Premium). He attempted to installed a 2-CD prgm. But when it came time to insert CD #2, Windows would not recognize it. It thought CD #1 was still in the drive. The installer prgm kept displaying the message, "Please insert CD #2 and...

Digital cameras?? Best company track record?

If you go with Canon, you get to use BreezeBrowser: http://www.breezesys.com/BreezeBrowser/ (not every Canon camera is supported) Personally, I don't care for the software that comes with Canon cameras. BreezeBrowser allows you to creates web pages, thumnails and all with a single click...

Do CD burners adjust to slower discs?

Say I have a 52X burner and only 16X discs. Can the burner sense this and automatically adjust? Or do you just get errors? The problem is I don't remember what speed my dics are rated for. Fortunately, I have only an old 8X burner .. but was thinking of upgrading to a new, Plextor 52X Premium...

    LSI U160

You guys were correct. Newegg was wrong: Thanks for bringing this to our attention. NewEgg's information is incorrect. The LSIU160 controller is natively supported in Windows XP. As long as you have a hard drive attached and terminated properly, you can install Windows XP without any third...

The LSI U160 from Newegg is only $38 .. which would be great if I could make it work. Where is your site.

    LSI U160

Yeah, dat's the one. I got mine for $185. I think they were always that price. Retail box. Came with all the cables. Does anyone have the LSI U160 card that Newegg is offering? And have you verified that it will indeed load Windows XP? It would suk if it wouldn't.

    LSI U160

I know F6 works fine for the Tekram U3W (I have one myself), but not sure why a similar card (the LSI U160) comes wit that note from Newegg that the card ( anice price, btw) won't install Windows. What concerned me about the Tekram U3W is that they're hard to find. Hypermicro no longer carries...

    SCSI adapter for 15K.3?

What is the adapter of choice for the 15K.3 (only device). I know you don't need U4W for just one drive .. so I'm wondering what would be the best U3W card to interface this drive.

For this particular PC, I don't need anything but WinXP, but I need at least 2 copies of it. They can be installed to the same (physical) drive, even tho I'd rather put them on different physical hard drives. Anyone actually activated two (or more) copies of WinXP on the same PC, running...
