Automotive guys will never go for something with a minimum operating temperature of 0C.
-40 to 85C operation is expected at a minimum for electronics in a car. Some applications in the car require -40 to 105C or -40 to 125C.Honestly I hadn't even considered an operating enviroment below freezing. My outdoor gear has fans and heaters to maintain a decent temp range (0C-50C).
Clusters are typically -40 to 85C rated applications. And yes, the LCDs work in those temps. They use wide temp LC fluids and polarizers.Wow, that is nuts. I'm certain the LCD displays can't work in those temps?
