The 6TB helium drive from HGST consumes less power than this one. The Toshiba is probably cheaper though.

It's really strange that Hitachi has no 5x1TB consumer platform yet. Perhaps they are not the same since the Seagate deal.

Hitachi has been eaten by Western Digital. It's Samsung's mecanical disk division that has been swallowed by Seagate.
But I thought Toshiba obtained a part of the Hitachi per the deal for anti-monopoly in the EU.

IIRC, Toshiba got WDC's Thailand 3.5" assets in exchange for Toshiba's Thailand 2.5" assets, and WDC retained all of HGST.
