No it isn't. To my knowledge, the only shingled 8TB HDD Seagate sells is the ST8000AS0002. The one BackBlaze uses is a standard, unshingled, not helium-filled, consumer model.

I prefer the heliums, which will replace the airy drives in the future.

That Seagate is awful. It takes forever to make a backup. I should just throw it away, but it's not worth the wiping effort. :(
