FWIW, Samsung had already announced 1TB/platter disks.

Sorry I missed that. Since they were absorbed by the Seagate is it really all the same drives?

If there are 1TB platters in 3.5" drives then by rule of nature there should be 1TB (2x500GB) 2.5' drives coming next.

There's already 1TB 2.5" drives, except that they are 12.5mm in height.

Sure and I have a few, but not the internal notebook booty drive.
