It could be interesting, depending on the price. The 1.2TB cost ~750$, so I don't expect the new 1.8TB to cost less than a thousand. It could make sense in a 2U server with 24x 2.5" bays. It does bring 2.5" drives almost to parity in regard to storage density with slower 3.5" drives since only the 4TB models fit in typical 3.5" hot swap bays (the 5-6TB models have, as you know, different placement for their screw holes).
