Why, whatever gave you the idea that I like to research my purchases extremely thoroughly before buying nearly anything?

You can easily make most of us feel stupid on our choices of consumerables. :) I hope you don't have a hard time deciding on things like toothpaste and toilet paper.

I get to do this to one of these on one of these for a parade on Sunday that will run for a total of 15 minutes. We are moderately confident that it can make most of the corners on the parade route, and we'll have two days to set up and one evening to tear down.

Stressful, but darn fun and pretty cool. Should have a YouTube video by next week.

Started last night. That thing is huge; I need to lower the rotating beacon or it is more than 14' tall and not legal on the highway. It is also about 2.5' wider than the flatbed, so I need "oversize load" signs and magnetic navigation lights all over it.

I had a crew of 2 for most of the evening, and we managed to put up about 6,000 lights and 16 channels in 6 hours. We have another 16 channels and 7,000 lights to do Friday.

Maybe the AOC i2353Fh 23" IPS monitor, if it's available. First IPS monitor available for less than 200$.

Otherwise, RAM is still cheap, if you haven't maxed your computers already.

I'm not seeing anything of interest on sale to buy this year.

1Password is half off for thanksgiving AND their checkout accepted some coupon codes I found online. I have been thinking about this for a while and I really need to get my password situation under control, this sale sealed the deal for me.

It wasn't such a good idea to put them in the front left pocket. Should have put the wallet there instead, like Max told you.

No, they are one of my home glasses. The metal separated in a weird way at the corner of the frame. I had the frames 8 years and lately they were feeling soft so I went in last week for an exam, etc. The two different kinds of new glasses are not ready yet. :(

We had better see some picture of this thing and a youtube video of it in action when you're done.

So I ordered the HE-500's in a 10% off black Friday sale early this morning and then decided to check and make sure they were selling the updated HE-500's with the new leather earpads and new more flexible cable. Turns out they weren't and are still clearing out their old stock. So, I cancelled the order. I'll gladly pay 10% more for the new cable + pads. Now to confirm which retailers have the updated models.

Now there is a Black Saturday? These stupid sales are out of control. It is bad enough that the businesses make people work Thursday night and early AM on Friday.

Damn, I think they were talking about the 40 inch TV I want. It is better to buy online. :)

I believe it's Walmart, but anywhoo...

I ventured into two of them yesterday after 10am and they weren't very busy. They also still had quite a few of the TV doorbusters. There were a couple of women complaining that they still had the TV that their friends camped out for at another store. Unfortunately for me, the $5 Blu-Rays were much more picked over this year than last. Last year they seemed nearly untouched at like 2pm in the afternoon.

I have had a touch of a headache from yesterday afternoon to this morning, going over what might be wrong I realize I have been sleeping in so much and skipping coffe/tea I think I might be in withdrawal.

I received some products from the egg earlier in the week and lately observed that there is a packet of the HOGOOD COFFEE in the box. Has anyone else experienced that oddity?

More progress, had to stop with only ~9,000 lights; it was maxing out the 4.8kW generator. I don't think it liked going from nothing to max and back several times a minute.

Got some video on the 7D, now I need to figure out how to make it Youtube-able.

You're lucky I'm too far away from CA to come and smack you upside the head for using the most cliche'd and overused song in the world as the audio track. ;)

I should have put in a disclaimer; that was not my choice. But I'm sure you knew that. I even presented different options, and was working on putting together an event track for Rodrigo y Gabriella's Viking Man. Next year I'll be doing a 30,000 sqft. building with 40,000+ lights across 32+ lighting channels. Then I'll stand on principal.

Somehow I purchased about $5K of stuff in the past week. I'm not enthusiastic about any of it either.
