Well, he didn't wear a monkey suit, so I'd say he played it right down the middle.

I thought Merc was wearing and suit and tie, but maybe not. :dunno:

I have no idea on that speed dating deal. There was no such thing in my day and no same-sex anything. Yet I would not last 3 minutes in that ring without basic knowledge of what Marvel and DC produce.

To bad Merc did not entice her back to his hotel room, but it's a start. :)

Wow. That does sound pretty bad. What does the doc say?

Don't get me started. I went to the urgent care last night about my infection/disease, but they could not find anything relevant in my head or chest, so they just got on my case for other stuff. :rambo:

Never a tie. I only just taught myself to tie one a couple weeks ago, and that was just because I found one while I was cleaning my closet. I have some sport coats I put on a few times a year and that's about it.

I did not think I could talk to another person for three minute with any degree of success either. That's why I planned to do the speed dating thing more than once. And there was too same-sex dating in your day, LM. They just didn't do it where straight people could see them.

I am sorry that you're feeling poorly. Get some rest and quit dying.

Nope, I'm managing the technical end of a fundraiser event for my old High School. Computers, projectors, power, internet, etc. Should be 500+ people.

Today was worse. Arrggh. By the noontime I could not focus because my right eye was crying too much. I must have been walking goofy since people were looking at me oddly and my right nose was bleeding strangely too. Late in the day I found a doctor willing to take new patients. They attacked me with something in the inspection room and also I have a prescription. Now I feel like a walking deadbody, not any better, and I'm still practically deaf on the right. If I'm not recovering by Friday, they say I should go to hospital. F that.

Started with an ear infection? Could have affected the 7th cranial nerve? Just a guess, but if basic a anti-biotic don't fix it, go to the hospital. Really.

I have few nerves left, but a big headache. I squeezed my last pink ball with all my remaining strength to no avail.

Long day, in anticipation of several more longer ones to come. Tomorrow I'm driving from Monterey to San Francisco to Sacramento and back to Monterey. MtG in Sac for a friend's birthday. I'll be driving for 7 hours and gaming for 7.

It's been pretty busy here for me at work. I haven't found anything exciting on the intertubes to post about...likely because I haven't had as much time to browse freely.

Sorry to hear Lunar isn't doing so well. Try to keep your spirits up!

I am on my way to a 110 hour work week and I am hating life right now. Probably less than Lunar, but this is not a good week.

At least you have a job. Dare I ask if it is legal for you work that much?

Look at the positive side ; it will not become any worse in a couple of days, around the time that you will die IF YOU DON'T GO SEE A DOCTOR!

And on a completely different topic : because of the hour of the planet during which I shut down all the lights and used candles instead, I think I looked to much time to the flame of my candle and I now have a blind spot in the center of my eyesight. I cannot read what I write and it is extrmely annoying. Sorry for the spelling mistakes I might do ; I cannot correct my text right now and I don't think my eyes will recover before the 5 minutes will past.

 Is there a special event tonight?

Since the afternoon I was on the phone about 5 hours with 3 people 5 times. I haven't talked so much since the 70s. Additionally, I spent well over an hour today in the bathroom. I really don't know what else is going on in the world.

I have no such luck; there is plenty of suffering to go...

Was that what destroyed the equipment?

Nope. That was the back-up plan. The in-house power killed my equipment. Anything that wasn't behind a bad-ass UPS got smoked. Then, during the event, as the heaters were turned on, I lost another circuit. Then the DJ started and I lost another. At this point I was back down to one (and I knew I would blow it the next time I had to print a large report), so I got the generator coming. At first I just moved the laser printer to the generator, but two hours later the last circuit (and the DJ's) let go, and I fell back to the generator exclusively. I don't think I'll be running any more events there.

There are near-as-dammit 8,000 posts in this thread. Obviously, I've missed something regarding the results of Ddrueding's adventures with printing at 'Events'. Link, pretty please?

I'm afraid I've built a bit of a reputation for being able to show up and make stuff work in adverse conditions. Rarely cheap or pretty, but if you happen to need a massive data-entry/report writing effort in a floorless tent with sketchy power in a massive rainstorm under unachievable deadlines, I tend to make it work.
