Did you see the vibration demo?
I couldn't figure out what that was for.
I couldn't figure out what that was for.
Because some people don't understand that SSD means solid state? Interesting that they are using the acronym DOM (disk on module) as a name? It is nice to not need a data or power cable...Did you see the vibration demo?
I couldn't figure out what that was for.
Does anyone have experience with the OCZ Vertex series or Kingston SSDnow M series (of apparent Intel rebadges)?
Looks like OCZ is announcing a Agility series 2.5" drive. They also have them on a product page here.
Engadget says the prices may be the following:
"...the trio of models will be available in a fortnight or so for $129.99 (30GB), $219.99 (60GB) and $349.99 (120GB)."
Perhaps my question was too narrow. Could you expound on that? Both. Quite a few of the Vertex (8? 12? something like that). And I did get some of the Kingston rebrands as well.
Which SSDs are you putting in a MacBook Pro (and what apps are you running) that would cause real-world performance to be affected by a cap at 150Mb/s? Perhaps it was the lack of other features related to the spec?
The Vertex Turbo SSDs are available in the following capacity and prices:
- 32 GB - $139.99
- 64 GB - $249.99
- 128 GB - $409.00
- 256 GB - $774.99
So why should one buy them, or are they faster than Intel in write IOs?
I think that Samsung has an SLC controller, but I don't think that it's better than Intel's.So none of the other controller brands support SLC memory?
