    The Best Mice are back...

I'm still using Intellimouse 1.0 and 1.1A, the former I got back on 27th October 1998 :D I'm so used to them anything else feels annoying. Opticals I find glide along too easily and are very light.

    The Best Mice are back...

I've never used one of those, although heard good things about them. Are they really that good?

    27 hours

I've been up I think around 50 hours or so. Towards the end I would laugh uncontrollably at the most trivial of things, feel extremely hungry, shiver for no reason and have some mild hallucinations. And to think some pay big dollars for drugs to do that to them.

    [NEWS] - SpinRite 6.0

NTFS support is good. The problem is, I've not yet been willing to leave my machine in DOS for 20 hours till it does its stuff. Apparently it has an option to install it on a USB flash disk or make a bootable ISO to burn on CD. Good stuff.

[NEWS] - The end of MBM

I use Hardware Sensors Monitor Pro. Nice simple interface, small size and generally neater than MBM. Ever since that came out a few years ago, I stopped using MBM which ended up bloated and full of useless features IMO.

    Nexus PS

My neighbours system runs a FSP 300W PSU with 8 hard drives, 3 opticals, a 2940U2W, P4 2.4, 512mb, and Radeon 9200. Works fine but the cabling is a nightmare. I never understood the point of a fanless PSU. There is going to have to be a fan somewhere in the system anyway to extract heat from...

Hard Drive Drawer / Caddy - what's good?

I find that using external USB2/Firewire enclosures with a regular 3.5" drive is a more reliable option and costs the same. Plus, if you swap from machine to machine you dont need to buy an extra receptacle thing, whatever its called. Only downside is if a machine doesn't support USB2 in which...

    Fastest, most reliable Smartmedia

If you have a high res camera or save in uncompressed TIFF format, the resulting images can be several megabytes in size which means it will take a few seconds to save the image.

    CCD cameras and nighvision/IR LEDs?

Thats a little more than I was expecting to pay... I've built the illuminator with 15 leds but not had time to test it properly. A quick test seems to show that it is way too weak to light anything beyond 1 ft. But that was a quick test with my Canon A30 and possibly with an incorrect voltage...

    CCD cameras and nighvision/IR LEDs?

Well it certainly sees the flashes of a remote control pointed at it quite brightly...

    CCD cameras and nighvision/IR LEDs?

Thanks for the info. I've found a place that stocks them. The camera is actually a color one, will that not work?
