    IIRC, many moons ago at a TechEd conference, that ultimately MS wants items to move from Exchange (such as shared calendaring and contacts) over to SharePoint, so Exchange becomes a pure MTA and email storage host. All the other nice things that come with Exchange like shared/public folders...

    IIRC, some MPs from the House of Lards have commented on the matter (and not in favourable terms of the US), and unfortunately the latest treaty does allow this to happen. (However the original terms were framed for terrorist acts against US assets, and not for copyright matters).

    I haven't watched the clip yet, just read a few summaries and quickly scanned the transcript. The overall premise is correct... corporations don't want to support general purposes computing, they want to sell you an appliance that does 1 thing only (and poorly so you have to upgrade each year)...

    That was the one thing that I really liked about the book, that Heinlein made you think about the value of society and the current freedoms that all enjoy, that maybe those freedoms should be earned individually rather than given. IMHO the book is more a political commentary on western society...
