New motherboard supports 288GB of RAM

Well... 1. You purchase that motherboard. 2. You purchase 2x Intel Xeons to fit. 3. You purchase 18x DIMMs for the correct type. (That are listed in Gigabytes certified memory list). 4. Buy a EATX compatible case, and a high wattage PSU (something desgined for servers, and not some gaming PSU)...

    Nice New Antec Case

Instead of using a PCIe lane for the LAN controller, there is a dedicated link in the P67 chipset exclusively for use with an Intel NIC. Which is theory reduces any latency between a NIC and the rest of the system. (It also has the side effect of reducing the cost of the whole setup).

    Nice New Antec Case

OT. Gigabyte Motherboard It might, but I don't think that board is ideal for a number of reasons: 1. Only 4 DIMMs in EATX. Heck even Intel squeeze 8 DIMM slots in ATX on the Intel DX79TO. 2. I get a terrible rash when I have to deal with Creative based audio solutions. 3. Why not install an...

Totally agree with that. Here in Oz, the national census is only run every few years, and there is a huge advertising campaign associated. Otherwise the only departments that want that information on a very regular basis is either the Tax Office or Centerlink... PS. Centerlink is the gov...

We've been buying local as well for quite a few years, however much of the direct buying from road-side stalls has dried up due to high levels of theft, which in some ways forced us back to supermarket supplied goods. Now we travel down to the Nerang Farmer's Markets (about 30km from were we...

WiMax has max theoretical of 75Mbps down, 75Mbps up. LTE hax max theoretical of 300Mbps down, 75Mbps up. (Quad antennae setup). More likely to see lower speeds off handheld devices... But WiMax is shared topology, so that 75Mbps is shared amongst all users.

Being a Uni-bum, I only tend to shave once a week, but that's more to maintain the shape of my goatee, more than anything else. I've got a Philips electric razor for a quick clean up, but for a close shave I use a King of Shaves AlphaGel and a Shick Extreme3 for that really close shave.
