I've been playing a riff on Pathfinder (Final Fantasy d20) with some friends of mine online using Roll20.net and Myth-Weavers' character sheet hosting. It's pretty fun, but the scheduling is brutal -- I'm trying to get used to going to bed and getting up at a decent time again, and the games...

Typo. But then I figure you already guessed that. Basically I was all but forced to take fifteen credit hours my first semester (yes, it does go by a semester system here), else I wouldn't graduate on time. I'm actually pretty happy with my final schedule, I should be able to easily...

Metro College isn't going to work out, I have 8AM classes and I'm not capable of running on >4 hours of sleep with any regularity. Went to bed at midnight, orientation went until 11 and then I wanted to grab a pizza. Woke up at 4, the A/C had cut out and I felt like I was suffocating. To...

PC Gaming = World of Suck

Diablo 3 can apparently run on a potato now, as I can crank the settings pretty high in 720p on the HD 4400 and still have decent FPS provided I turn 'Low FX' on. I even ran it on the desktop, runs fine there too. I guess the fact that it released in 2012 has something to do with it? It's so...

Assuming this isn't MS rigging the results like with Windows 10 adoption, this might just be a compelling reason to go to Edge. I looked at the guy running Doom 4 on an HD 4600, at 720p (I think you can take it down to 800x600 minimum, so not that much lower) at the lowest settings he was getting unplayable framerates, like 20 just in the menu. No thanks. Not paying sixty dollars for a slideshow. I can play most older...

I'm kind of sad that the new Doom doesn't seem to be playable on an HD 4400 even with all the bells and whistles turned completely off, but honestly looking at gameplay footage I think I prefer the Brutal Doom mod in GZDoom anyway. It at least doesn't require a supercomputer...

When we were on HughesNet the speed was fine, 12mbps at least, but the latency was horrible, something like 4000 or so. I would often ping out of loading web pages and an IRC chat was nearly impossible to stay connected to. But the thing that peeved me off most about it was that they had the...

When I used Vista on a regular basis, I had an MBR scheme, and it still only made the one partition that I remember. But it would make sense for them to start doing it then, since Vista introduced the 6.x kernel and all and introduced a lot of the changes that have stayed the same since 2007.
