I'm not very interested in warranty, since I don't have time to wait for replacements. In the MSI BIOS, you have to accept the T&C when going into the OC menu. I assume that is not just AMD, but iNtel as well. I don't mess with manual settings since the CPUs overclock themselves in recent...

Your system in the signatures? I assume there are no controller cards or NICs, etc. How do you get data in and out of that computer; does it have the Thunderbowls?

The first boot cycle or two was extra long though I did not time it. Back in February that X670E system was taking 20 seconds to get to the BIOS with 32GB DDR5-6000, then 40 seconds with 64GB DDR5-6000 (2 RAMs each time). Now it takes 60 seconds to reach BIOS with 64GB, then another 40 seconds...

My MIS motherboard had a BEta BIOS in late April, but I was not aware that the AMD cluster impacted the regular X CPUs. Today I anxiously proceeded to update that BIOS. Fortunately the computer is still working at DDR5-6000 speed on the EXPOs. From what I can see the voltage was reduced from...

    Ryzen

Is that because it is a BEta BIOS?
  7. LunarMist

    Ryzen

My BIOS shows 1.36V with EXPO actuated, so I guess that is excessive for the AMD CPU. The RAM slows to 48000 with the EXPO deactivated. Voltage on the RAMs goes from 1.4 to 1.1. It's not clear what the reduction on the CPU does to the RAM. 🤷‍♂️

    Ryzen

If I update the BIOS the RAM will crash down to slow speeds and performance will suck, is that right? I guess the question is whether to leave it alone until failure and then replace with Intel or not. I don't see VSOC listed in my BIOS; maybe it has another name?

Isn't it only for the X3D models? I'm reluctant to update BIOS for the older 7950X if it does something weird.

The ZEN 4 X3D CPUs are a disaster due to EXPO settings overvolting and literally frying the CPUs. Ryzen BURnout ASUS.

I see the 80EAZZ for $100 if that is it. Performance, durability and error rate are low grade as expected from a BLUE. It's not likely a He drive based on the power specs. What is ERC, something like the TLER?

No, it's just showing that the most common age of failures is less than three yaers. That does not count the vast majority of drives that are still working. Their aggregate AFR is 1.40%. Other than the one 14TB Segate drive with higher than typical AFR, there is not a lot to practically...

I'm trying to access different arrays. For some really stupidly reason, the QNAP have segregated the OS and FS so the QTS Hero is ONLY ZFS and the QTS is only EXt4. The only way to change is to flash the firmwares each time, which is not feasible. So now I have two QNAPs locally and two QNAP...

It's the original 7950x, not the new one for game plays. Windows indicates that I have 64GB of DDR5-6000, but NVidias have 12GB. Maybe 25-33% of that is used by the ToPaz acccording to the Task Manager during operation even though I set the ToPaz Memory Consumption to high.`

Bummer on Adobe. I set the ToPaz preferences for AI processing to "Nvidia GeForce..." and now the R6 CR3 raw files are being denoised to TIF in 1.7 seconds each and R5 files in 3.6 seconds. I'm not sure why the R6 benefitted relatively more. According to Windows the Nvidia GPU is not more...

It takes ~2.5 sec. for the TOpaz Denoise to output each R6 CR3 as a TIF on my system (n=12). That's not too different from 4 sec. you are getting per image considering I'm using the 7950x and 4070 Ti (nothing is at 100% continuously though I hear some fans). Is your speed a problem? I would...
