I have a Sony internal BR/DVD burner at home. At work I use a USB attached BR/DVD burner. ( I would give you the brand/model number, but someone must have it locked in their office ) I use AShampoo free burning software for both.

I see Microsoft is really sinking to new lows to force people to switch to Windows 8. DirectX 11.2 only available on Windows 8.1. I would think that it would only upset some gamers. Microsoft just doesn't get it.

I would try a power supply. I had a CPU fan puke and the system wouldn't get past the BIOS.

The second generation of P180's had the fan between the power supply and hard drives moved to the front of the case. The metal divider was also remove. I still don't care for the P180 case. They are big and heavy, but don't really have a lot of room in them. The Corsair really looks nice.

Is it a good idea to use an SSD for virtualization? Possibly 4 operating systems. I am thinking it might wear out faster.

I just watched one of the demos of Windows 8.1. Microsoft still don't get it. Seems all the so called improvements were made to Metro for phones and tablets. Not one mention of the desktop user or the Start Button/Menu.
