It seems like if you didn't cheap out too badly you're already there. I was worried that there would be a new connector, or protocol, or something. Just raising the bar on image quality is a Good Thing.

New. Lenovo servers configured by them. Much faster turn around than Lenovo themselves, always have stuff in stock, and if you really spec a system up (24x SSDs, for example) they will be much cheaper.

It is quite fun, but if you aren't willing to risk some hardware, build the loop on the rig then remove it from your hardware before leak testing. I've lost two GPUs and a MB from bad a connection in the past. Yes, this was a single install. Yes, it was with a motherboard that had built-in...

I have no doubt the quality of this was awful. None of the content delivery companies (Comcast, DirecTV, etc) give enough bandwidth to anything. I often think that YouTube 1080P streams are actually higher bandwidth than most things those guys are calling "HD".

    Shingled drives and backup hardware

I wouldn't trust any single enclosure with my data. Even a massive NAS would be backed up daily to another unit at another site. Therefore all you risk with less redundant systems is some downtime, not data. For home use 48 hours of downtime is acceptable.

    WiFi Access Point suggestions

Not particularly. My experience with Android, Windows, iOS, and OSX are all about the same. They maintain a list of APs and that list has priorities assigned to them. Of all the APs available, it will choose the one highest up the list rather than the one with the highest strength.
  45. ddrueding

    WiFi Access Point suggestions

You added both the APs to the same config, right? This will automatically give them both the same SSID/password and makes them play pretty well together. How low the reception needs to get before it jumps is an open question.
