Backing up memory cards on the go without a laptop

I charged the battery fully and downloaded (X-Copy mode) 115GB of data from a S*NY UHS-II card to a 2TB EVO in the NPS-10 15 times. At that point the battery level display was blinking red so I figured it would not last for another copy.

I replaced the cable and phone with the internet Fibres. The speed is faster and I don't have all the cable problems with interference when running the secure shredders. My smaller shredder has a better cut pattern, but really makes the video blocky. The Fibre system is not affected by...

    WD 18TB and 20 TB

NPS10. I'm still testing for compatibility and data integrity under different scenarios. I will have official results after the holiday weekend. Preliminary results indicate 14350 BMs per min. sustained copy speeds with a UHS-II card.

I think Canon has decided to put effort into the R system now, which is slowing the process of updating the better cameras. I don't think they will make too much goofy gear to increase the market. They are already planning for other types of products rather than consumer cameras. Sony is...

You mean that some people will not like it because it isn't a S*NY 1.5x EVF with the dirty sensors, no battery life, and the other limitations for wildlife? Canon will have some EVF croppers soon enough. ;) The 90D should be a substantial upgrade over the 80D, which is it's purpose. I'm not...

SSDs - State of the Product?

Other than the 860 Pro (uneconomical to buy four for my purposes) are there any good options other than the 860 EVO in the 2TB SATA 2.5'' form factor? Each SSD will be in a PSD with sustained sequential writes 250-300 GB/sec. probably at QD1 for 128GB at a time. I know that QVO crap won't cut...

Another Digital Camera Thread - Point and Shoot

Those jpegs look just OK at ISO 100, with weird noise, artifacts, and CA. I wonder if that's the best possible from the small sensors or a result of the in-camera processing. I'd expect most users of a $1200 P/S to use RAW much of the time and process to best advantage.

https://www.qnap.com/en-us/product/ts-873 It's more like 20 years through 2018, but of course the rate is non-linear. Total space in RAID would be 87TB, with an 80% capacity target at 70GB. I suppose 20 TB HDDs may be available in late 2020, but then I will have to juggle the drives or run...

No, I don't. I read several places it was up to the 60's in MB/sec. The main complaints are that the app sucks. Without it the downloads are rather basic with no display on the device. I was rather disgusted with the USB 2.0 OTG, so it is only useful at a halfway decent speed for SD cards...

Those funky setups can work, but they are slow and I would not count on that. Currently there are a few versions of the WD drives (HDD or SSD) that directly download SD cards and have OTG for others. The Android or iBliOS software is buggy for some functions, but they seem to be reliable enough...
