Bathroom fan replacement (v. quieter + more CFM)

I meant it was in the wrong thread. ;) Presumably the fan only fits in one orientation since only the four normal dimensions apply, unlike some situations that require projections into more. I have multi-toilets and can leave one with it's fan on for a while and use the other.

Another Digital Camera Thread - Point and Shoot

The price is about right. There are a lot of compromises with the size. What exactly are you doing with it and the Chinese stabilizer device? It seems that defeats part of the portability.

DJI drones - New Mavic 2 pro announced tomorrow

But what happens when the power and controls are completely gone? I think it could fall faster than when auto-rotating, but maybe it would not make much difference. In any case I suspect that a few injuries and deaths could ensue in a public area. Starting from 40,000 miles up, the drone...

    Beverages

Thanks. I was not familiar with the relationship between the honey and the mead. I thought that meads were popular in ancient times and basically died out after distilled spirits became popular in the late middle ages, but I may have been thinking of something else.

Thanks. That is a good place a to start and I have been relatively devoid since the 80s. It certainly is a reminder audio it is a slippery slope. What are your thoughts on the reflex tube front vs. rear?

    Audio Equipment

$700 per pair or less would be good, but $1000 for a pair is fine if that makes much difference. I'm currently using some kind of 2-way 5.25 speakers from about 10 years ago that were pretty cheap, IIRC about $150 for both. They weigh less than 10 lbs. ea. and don't sound very good now that I...

    Audio Equipment

I want a pair decent speakers for TV and occasional audio. They can be up to about 10kg ea. though 8kg is better. From what I read speakers with 5.25' drivers are lacking in bass compared to the 6.5 drivers. Sub woofers are not a consideration. Absolute highs are not audible at my age though I...

I view files with BreezeBrowser. It's not good for RAW conversion nowadays, but I use it for first and second pass editing and it provides very useful adjustments of time/date, complex strings for renaming, IPTC/XMP fields and keywording, jpeg extraction, GPS tools, etc.

    dSLR thread

People are nuts about rumors, many of which are inaccurate or never come to pass. I would expect the D500 to be replaced by the MILC variety. The D7500 was a step down from the D7200 to separate it further from the D500 just as the D60 was a step down from the D50 after the 7D.

You'd have to use multiple exposures. Also, stop down and lower the shutter speed. When did you get the D500 and why would you use that on the landscapes rather than the D610 or was it just the lack of normal zoom? File: 2475-crop.jpg File size: 157KB Image counter: 31180 Camera Model: NIKON...

SSDs - State of the Product?

I don't believe the 3950X could run 16 cores at the same time and frequency without using more power either. It's not like the chip technology will change. However, it may be better to have more cores and there may not much to lose considering the 3900X is 3.8-4.6GHz and the 3950X is 3.5-4.7GHz.
