I do want to buy a used car

I'm not the best at getting immediate treatment for non-critical issues, but medical conditions rarely resolve on their own. I've been lucky that all my surgeries were essentially successful, though some had complications. My body will never be what it was in my 30s, but at least I can hike a...

I meant "cars" and $130 million. ;) Probably the autonomic vehicles will get there eventually, but they still suffer numerous deficiencies. I would suggest a used Civic, Corolla or similar economy car. David can tell us what it costs to update an old Mazda to electric, but I don't suppose it was cheap. 😉 Robot controlled cats will be unreliable since the projects and programming involves people, often of limited competence. I received a similar email. Oddly enough it is to and from an e-mail account that I only used a couple of times about 5-6 years ago. I don't get it. I have options in 10 Pro of the semi-annual channel or semi-annual (targeting) channel. My understanding from about a year ago was that the semi-annual with the 120 days deferment was the longest delay possible for the regular users, not having Enterprise versions or hacking, etc.

I do want to buy a used car

It is certainly possible, but not economical or efficient to convert a car from gas to electric. Modern vehicles are tightly integrated at all levels of construction, mechanicals and electronics. Maybe you could do so more easily with a Jeep or 1960s car, but it will never be as practical as...

No one wants over 16TB per drive SSDs

A 16TB nVMe SSD would be resilvered in less than three hours. It's far faster than any hard drive. UBER is two orders of magnitude better than a hard drive and MTBF is better as well.

No one wants over 16TB per drive SSDs

The drive doesn't know what data is on it. Failure depends on the power on hours and to some degree the number of bytes W/R. Assuming a 16TB does not have more than 4x the failure rates of a 4TB drive, then 16TB would be better. In any case 16TB will be considered small when the 32TB drives...

No one wants over 16TB per drive SSDs

That is probably about 100TB. :D 16 TB and larger will be normal once the drives have higher capacity per platter due to the MUMR and HAMR. The recent trend of simply adding platters is not helping transfer rates or performance in general.

My first smartphone lasted over 5 years, and technically was still working although the OS was obsolete. My second phone died after 3.5 years. I really see no reason that a phone cannot last for four years on average just like a laptop, some of which have charging control to prolong battery life.
