It would be so much easier if Nikon updated the 80-400. That and a 500/5.6 would be not bad with a D850. The Canon 100-400 is the main reason I'm using Canon for wildlife at this point.

    Extremism in feeds. Why?

It's terrible that everyone on the Google, Bing, MS, Abode, Chevy, etc. are tracking every movement, but then they get it so wrong. :( I'm still receiving the Korean stuff on the phone even though I cleared everything I could.

So basically it is RAID 0 and MSI just makes up their own RAID levels. I'd rather have 2x2TB drives as singles or perhaps RAID 1, but that laptop is just too heavy for all travel.

What would anyone suggest for waterproof BT headphones (not earphones)? I want to block out the sounds in my head normally and especially in the showers. FWIW, I tried the BT speakers, but they echo and the background water noise is too much.

I don't know what your budget was or what the prices are in your region, but the LG or Samsung 13.3" <1kg class notebooks w/Karby Lake type R, 8GB RAM, 250/256GB SSD, and three USB 3.0/3.1 ports are about $1100 or so here.

The price looks good for IQ. I'm not sure if that lens will be useful enough. The problem with f/5.6 is that IQ and/or AF may be an issue with a 1.4x. I'm not seeing anything about the weight and it does have a lot of elements. I'd rather have a better quality 200-500/5.6 or a 500/4 PF. I'm...

That hardware looks like it was spec'd for Chrome rather than Windows. I've been pleased with my 925g Fujitsu U938 i7 8650U other than the fan noise under load.

That is not an unusual price for such a lens. Newer lenses tend to have higher IQ and cost more, partly because the production volumes are low.

No 500/4, which is the only larger lens I would have any use for. 300/2.8 and 400/2.8 are mainly for sports.

Yes I did. How would I connect it to the X99? For now I may buy an SATA ssd. It's still better on the latencies and multi basking than my NAS and would have some use as a backup later. The two NADS and computers are heating up the joint now that it is summer. :(

    Sous Vide cooking Great stuff

Well, of course there should be some feedback from a sensor in the heated mass (water) to control the heating source. Back in the day I used a Ge probe, some op amps, and a timer to generate PWM that controlled a triac, or something like that. It was a long, long time ago, so I probably...

    Sous Vide cooking Great stuff

The water baths were open to the atmospheric pressure, so it was not a closed system. I don't think they were using plastic balls yet though. I simply don't believe that professional chefs for hundreds of years controlled temperatures to fractions of degrees.

    Sous Vide cooking Great stuff

In olden times of the 1970s we had analog controllers. Achieving ±0.5°C is not a problem if there is sufficient heater control and thermal transfer to the water bath. I assume that there are plenty of relatively inexpensive cookers that are good enough for the intended purpose. I doubt that...
