    New phone time: old-school

Most of the smartphones have poor sound quality since there is very little space dedicated to the speaker. Only the camera or two are important.

I think it is still there but the best we can do. I disabled the camera and mics in the BIOS. I hope the Coratana cannot override it.

My concern is how will all the autononymous cars work with the more complicated situations. Half the roads have crappy lane lines illegible in the rain. There is no instruction manual in rental cars nowadays. There should be time to read with all Canadians in the toilets.

I'm interested in the glass function as some hotels have that. I have a basic Logitech BT that works ok, but is quite flat and feels cheap. I wish it were more like the 325.

I was able to obtain the Crucial Ballistix RAM more readily than the more basic Crucial. It works just fine despite the stupid-looking decal that is a picture of a heat sink. The laptop BIOS doesn't show any options for voltage, timings, etc.

SSDs - State of the Product?

The laptop has only 52WHr and I suspect it would not operate at full power on batteries. The laptop would always be on AC unless the generator is off. Anyway, I don't want excessive heat in the laptop enclosure.

SSDs - State of the Product?

Of course two weeks after I got the 2TB 860 EVO, the 970 EVO is announced at 2TB. :( Unfortunately there is no 2TB 970 Pro, which dashes any hope there would be a 4TB version. I suppose the 2TB 960 Pro was not popular.

I have Verizon as the home ISP and am unable to download from an EarthLink account. I checked the settings and their website for the ports, etc. Nothing has changed. I tried a second computer with the same results. It's ridiculous. Of course my concern is what if they decide I'm not allowed...

It only has 82WHr of batteries, so obviously the 180W is for the CPU/GPU. 65W is about right for charging. Why is the resolution so low for 15.6' display? Is it for the gamers' vision?

Forget the airplane, who wants to haul that big honking adapter around the rest of the time? I'm surprised it can't work off of a 90W adapter. Meanwhile I'm hoping to charge the little KABY Lake R with a 30-40W USB-C charger if needed. The 65W charger is bit bulky to carry.

    question Display Cleaning

Well, it is only a 27' CG with internal hardware calibrator, not the 4K. It is well beyond the capacity of my eyeballs to see each pixel of the 4096x2160 31.1 display over a large area, not to mention being $6000.

Maybe it will only cost $5000-7000, unless the optics are mediocre like the 200-500. However, the crappier the optics the less people will pay. In any case, f/5.6 seriously limits use in low light and with teleconverters. Pros would prefer the f/4 and most everyone else would be fine with a...

SSDs - State of the Product?

I've been playing around with the 2TB M.2 860 EVO. I'm pretty impressed so far after a few TB written. It doesn't slow down after extended writes like the old 850 EVO. The chips are warm but not hot. I need an adapter to use in a PSD and will try that later.
