The Canon 600/4 DO has been rumored and in development forever. Obviously an f/5.6 should be cheaper to build. Technologically a 500/5.6 should be easier than a 600/5.6, but it would be more economical to produce both together using similar designs and some shared components. A 600/5.6 would...

I'd be satisfied with 5 years continuous use. At that point hasn't the technology improved substantially so that the $1000 card can be replaced for only $200 or a $1000 card is far more powerful?

Have you calculated the thermodynamic efficiency? What efficiency does the heat pump have and then what is the energy from the computer that is actually transferred on a daily basis? I suspect that the overall difference may literally be a few seconds of hot water usage.

I have regularly turned off power on a laptop by holding the button for eight seconds or whatever, which I think is the same thing. It was a lot faster than waiting forever for the computer to wake up or shut down naturally. On one of the older ones I used to take the battery out when it was...

I don't know what the extra features of the S are. The MX 2 mouse works fine, but the design is weird. Pushing in the scrolling wheel alternately engages and disengages the clicking of the wheel rather than being a center click. That is done with a button behind the wheel. I'm not sure if...

No, it has some kind of LED LCD. It is 13.3" 1920x1080 matte without the stupid touch sensors. The image is fairly good but not wide gamut. Color temp was 7300 before calibration to 5500K. Of course there is a little grayscale ba ding since the blue and green are substantially diminished.
