Thanks for the suggestions, and had a look at those options. Both of those look really good, but decided to stick with Thunderbird as it what my wife has and is used to, so at least she can help the kids if they get stuck with something. Thunderbird (current ESR) comes with all the support for...

    Desktop Email clients (2024)

Hi all, Just like to find out what email clients people are using/recommending these days. With Microsoft updating Windows 11 users to the ”new” outlook, which is imho is an extremely poor replacement for the older Mail app, need to migrate the kids systems to something better. My wife uses...

And one final take, with his age and health conditions, what is the likelihood that he is replaced by Vance just after the mid-point in his term? A few key points: If the first two years are bad, the GOP can blame Trump when he is ousted. If the VP becomes President with less than 2 years left...

I guess at this stage in the game, how many seasoned and long term politicians want anything to do with the president-elect, knowing that they'll outlive him and understand the transactional nature of dealing with him (you're only in his good books while you are useful to his cause). I had no issues with XP x64, since the underlying hardware was all fairly stock standard, eg, the AMD-8000 series chipset, Adaptec U320 SCSI RAID, ATI 9600XT (replaced with the NV FX5600). My printer at the time supported PCL natively, so just used one of the generic HP PCL drivers. I run XP...

For the most part, yes, by increasing the width of the memory bus and bringing the memory chips onto the CPU package (which allows higher MT's). Case in point: The M2 Max is capable of 400GB/s. The M2 Ultra doubles that to 800GB/s. Intel 12th Gen or Ryzen 7000 series with dual channel...

    WD 18TB and 20 TB

I would assume the 'AI' part means the firmware is designed for typical IO workloads found when used with AI software. Similar to how drives for video systems is designed more for linear IO, vs random IO. And HHDs for NAS may be tweaked for more random IO and quieter running, and so on.

    Non-Binary DDR5

IIRC, SDR -> DDR4 were a single 64bit wide data bus to the DIMM, but with DDR5 that was changed to a 2x 32bit data bus, thus allowing 2x 32bit reads to the DIMM to done independently. Due to the change to 32bit wide channels we can now have non power of 2 sizing of the actual memory chip...
