Size in memory is not the issue (I normally browse with a fast connection). Size on the screen is. Ever read stuff talking about 'the fold' and how your pertinent web content better be above it or nobody is going to scroll down and find the wonderful stuff you have hidden below? Anyway big...

Well that list is sufficiently long for me to start downloading it. But I wondered if it addressed any particularly annoying bugs or storage related issues (SCSI write problem?)

    I have seen the light...and it's a 21" flat panel

Yes, I saw that monitor while I was in Best Buy the other night. Pity they didn't have it hooked up properly to show it off. Looked impressive though. But I believe they had it hooked up to an analog splitter so they picture quality was not that great.

No more development on IE according to Microsoft.

I haven't used opera so I really don't know what it looks like. I have used mozilla and that tabbed browsing seems like a form of MDI to me. But it is like SDI because you can only have one child active at a time. However, they are all within one browser window and thus children of the main...

No more development on IE according to Microsoft.

MDI doesn't necessarily mean tabbed. And I believe MS moved away from MDI to SDI to put the window managing in the hands of the OS not the app.

No more development on IE according to Microsoft.

There only needs to be changes to the rendering engine to properly support the standards. Other than that you can use one of the plethora of web browsers that are just wrappers around IE's rendering engine and provide the more up to date features like popup killers and tabbed browsing. Is MS...

Yes I do. My most recent story about chipset fan. Put together new computer for my dad and he's happy. Hard drives still slow and starts making noises. So he picks up a hard drive and I put it in. Much better but he says it still makes the annoying noise. I open up the case and it is the...

    PC Chips RAM compatibility

I had a tyan board with 4 simm and 2 dimm. I think I had it up to 256MB. I had to use 128MB ram that had the chips stacked on the one side. It was taller than normal ram. I don't think it had chips on both sides. I don't really remember or have that ram around (though I have the board).

Pentium-M and Centrino, are you all excited?

I'm excited about the centrino. My work laptop is old (Pentium II 266) and very much needs to be replaced. I'm holding off on asking for a new one till I think the company will spring for a centrino based one from dell. The power savings and speed are impressive. I think it is the best...
