    Quick video editing software recommendation

I thought merc summed it up well in the beginning, from my experience with pinnacle several years back they have bugs... i figured this was the same now. winDVD's DVD creater was crappy for me... it was stable enough, but it choked on some videos and created a coaster my 1st time out...

12-v tyre inflator – quiet, fast, powerful

For the occasional air boost in my tires I just goto a local gas station. Most of them have air compressors for about $0.50 a use (should be able to inflate 4 tires with that).. quick trip lets you use their air compressor for free.

i was annoyed earlier this month when I installed core2 test 1 and the update servers went down so that I could not update using yum. Wireless Router Recommendations

i've setup 2 netgear 802.11b routers (both model MR814v2) both have worked flawlessly. The one thing I do notice is that signal strength never seems to go above ~85%. I am using really cheap NICs, one is a gigafast 802.11b PCMCIA and the other is a trendware PCI 802.11b based on the realtek...

    My new system

i know that for halflife the server does not require a CD-Key. In bf1942 on linux I dont think you need a key, but in windows I think you did... either way I dont think you are required to have a unique key(license) to run a dedicated server.

    Cleaning up spyware

    1) i doubt winME needs a firewall. 2) use an automated program for getting rid of spyware/adware. i recomend ad-aware. My new system

i dont know what you're talking about, there is no 10 connection limit on XP itself. The 10 conenction limit is with IIS and SMB. Do a netstat -an and you'll likely see hundreds (or thousands) of connections on a box that does file sharing... a box that is just surfing can very easily surpass a...

    My new system

As far as I'm concerned winNT is a server operating system. Even if it's been dumbed down and castrated it's still a good base. Additionally, that 10 connection limit only applies to IIS and other microsoft server daemons. Which means Apache, various FTP programs, and even game servers should...

that sounds odd being that they are both the same drive. make sure your SCSI bus is set up as follows Controller -> Drive -> Drive -> terminator Make sure that Term. Power is enabled on both your controller and the drive next to the terminator. Make sure the terminator is LVD U160 rated as...

Splash: What are you using for new systems at work?

At work we have atleast 6 machines that run win2k on 440BX and i810 chipsets. There are a couple more that run winXP on the same chipsets. And probably a couple still running winNT 4.0 on the same. No problems.

    Serial DVD burner

none of the boards I've used mention it by that name, but you're right.. the term floppy emulation makes sense. Come to think of it, I've never seen an option to have an ATAPI device emulate a floppy in any BIOS that I've used.

    Building a Storage Server Thread

Probably because of inefficiencies and delays. Maxing out 100baseT is real easy with netperf. You can easily see that with decent gear you can achieve 98-100Mbps... The thing is when you have multiple bottlenecks as well as other interactions you run into delays that affect another area. So...

How to overlay a web graphic

Tables are there for a reason. I agree that they can be very intuitive and comfortable if you're used to using them. As long as you write your tables correctly and the result renders well on your target browsers then I see no problem.

    Building a Storage Server Thread

i forgot to make it clear that the exact same network transfer behavior was noted in 2.6 and I thought the slow performance of the drives on the promise controller might be to blame.
