well, im using this monitor (Samsung 172T) through my 4 way KVM, with a 2way newer KVM, and with it directly hooked up.. used with several graphics card, but the main one was a Leadtek geforce3 Ti200.. all the time analog. my gf has her monitor about 10 feet from me hooked to her saphire radeon...

wonder if you could put the drive itself in a case... like one of those silencer deals.. the thing might protect the drive from the terribe atmosphere... but like you said.. there are alot of ther things in the PC to die out.. including the necessary ISA cards...

i wouldn't doubt it in their next set of X-PCs... the probelm is they can't use both.. simply not enough room... on their last couple X-PCs they even had to remove one of the serial ports and I don't think any have had a parallel port on the rear of the board, they are all using connectors...

i've had good luck with an M model 80MM panflo... got it from a 386 case fan/PSU... been using it ever since up till a few months ago... as good as some nideks I have from some old 486 PSUs

that would be taiyo yuden.. as far as I know they are the only "made in japan" around.... and they due use a light blue dye vs the pale green or pale blue-green of others... From what I've heard and seen myself, the darker the dye the better.. blue and even purplish dyes work best...

havent tried them to compare.. i've found Mitsubishi and Taiyo yuden to be very good... CMC to be about the worst... Ritek to be acceptable... I thought TDK was made by Ritek... At the moment I only buy mitsubishi made verbatim and taiyo duden from Fuji or Memorex... I keep my DIVX collection...

i certainly wouldn't recomend the place if I hadn't had good success with them myself or if I didn't have the recomendation of someone I trust. In this case I have both.

typically vomit boxes come in 2 or 3 boxes... one for the computer, keyboard , mouse and software(the main system)... Then a seperate box for the monitor and another box for the printer... if you get a computer w/ a scanner I'd imagine that might come in yet another box or perhaps be bundled...
