I'd get the manufacturer involved even if it doesn't find any bad blocks. It has a warranty and it's not working. If nothing can fix it, I'd definitely contact them to make use of the warranty. They may have a utility that can fix it, if not let them replace it.

If you can get a Displayport 1.2 to HDMI2.0 adapter you should be able to use any UHD TV (as long as it has the full 18gbit/sec on at least one HDMI 2.0 port).

It all depends what options you pick. I should be pretty benign with the defaults, but it doesn't display video in the same way normal applications do. That's intentional and how it gets better video quality by bypassing all the normal manglings of Windows.
