Go into Display Properties->Advanced->Monitor and uncheck the "Hide settings that this monitor can't display". Should give you the option for 1600*1200 now. Alternatively install the monitor driver as Mark suggested.

The delay has been in regards to the standalone Blu-Ray player. The internal burner has been out for a couple of months now.

Well the Samsung is available now for playback, tho it would seem money better spent getting the Sony internal Blu-Ray burner for around the $750 mark.
