Get a 5lb bag of wings from Walmart, and a bottle of hot wing sauce to suit. Fry wings for around 12 mins, drain, and mix in the sauce. Goes well with all types of beer.

Another Digital Camera Thread - Point and Shoot

Got a Nikon S7c for the wife for Christmas, pretty nifty, big 3" screen, and built-in wifi. Comes with a free 1 year T-mobile hotspot account, so you can send pics out as an email from any Starbucks etc. Will mostly be used for indoors shots at birthday parties etc, small enough to put in the...

Udaman: remember that OTA HD is at around 18Mbit/sec. Which comes out to less than 3MB/sec, which is certainly not a challenge for any drive produced in the last 10 years. I doubt we'll be seeing 2K or 4K in the home for many years to come. Perhaps once the 1080p market is fully saturated, and...

    ATM Card Theft / Scam

They had a special on ATM dodgyness in Australia a couple of years ago. They mounted a small card reader on to a sign "Clean your ATM card here", located just before the actual ATM. Hidden camera caught a bunch of people swiping thru, unaware that they had just given the bad guy all their card...

Forgot to ask, what type of TV do you have? And what cable package? It may only cost you another $5-$10 per month to switch to an HD DVR from your cable co, this will allow you to record two HD programs whilst viewing a previously recorded 3rd stream. Some of the newer HD DVRs also have a SATA...

    TV card suggestions

Generally all of the PCI cards that receive OTA HD can record the streams, if you don't re-encode them they will save as .ts (transport stream). I use a MyHD120 myself, works great for watching and recording OTA HD. Uses hardware decoding. I believe the 130 version (current) can tune...

Excellent pricing Mark. Just a single replacement lamp will prob cost more than the price you paid for the warranty. This way you can leave the thing on without worrying about lamp hours and when you will have to come up with $$$ for replacements.

    GM 70MPG Plug-In Hybrid

LPG gas conversions are quite common in Australia as well. Especially taxis. However, the financial incentive to do so has diminished drastically in the last 10 years, it used to be that LPG was substantially cheaper than petrol (say 20%), however they are now almost equal in price per litre...

    GM 70MPG Plug-In Hybrid

I like the idea of the Honda Civix GX natural gas powered cars, where you can buy a small filling station that sits in your garage, and fills your car from your natural gas line overnight. Cost comes out to about $1.30 per gallon (filling station being around $3K). 200 mile range is more than...

    New HDTV opinions wanted

*Nods* The Sony SXRD screens are excellent. I wouldn't bother paying for installation, extended warranty is probably not required unless it somehow includes replacement lamps. You could spend a couple of hundred on an ISF calibration if you want perfection. You probably want to look at some...

    Audio Equipment

The idea is to have HDMI from the device (blu-ray, hd-dvd, pc) going into a receiver (which can playback/decode the audio). Then another HDMI cable from the receiver to the display device. Some of the HDCP enabled video cards allow you to "add" S/PDIF to the HDMI output...

    LDC TV

In the USA, "digital" cable is usually nothing more than the analog channels, digitised. Still 4:3, low rez junk. The HD channels are 16:9, in 1080i or 720p, but there aren't many of them. ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS and PBS can be received free over-the-air with either an external STB, or the tuner...
