I second that recommendation. PairNic is a fair bit more expensive than GoDaddy, but I've never been disappointed.

    Cars, Trailers, and Towing...

The Outback 2.5 is rated for around 1000 pounds when towing a trailer without brakes. With trailer brakes, this jumps to 2700 pounds. What is the terrain like? Flat or hilly? In fact, it makes the Edmunds Top 10 of best tow vehicles (tho it's unclear which particular model they are referring...

Interview went well. I'll know next week. It is an entry level type position, mostly monitoring consoles/batches/print jobs etc. But the possibilities for advancement are almost unlimited (workforce of 20,000). And the benefits are sweet (discounted/free education for the kiddies).

    Really Fast Drive! or ?

15MB/s for a normal notebook drive? That seems low. Nevermind, I see it's a 1.8" form factor.

Got an interview on Thursday for a computer operator job. 500 servers in a datacenter, including some Z series big iron. Actually a drop in pay, but it would be a great experience doing something technically hands-on.

    SATA external enclosures

SATA II (external) is fully rectangular. That Athena enclosure looks like it uses a standard SATA connector (L shaped), so any normal SATA cable should work. AFAIK, for internal connections, there is no difference between SATA I and II.

Can't relocate. Will be staying in the Rochester area. My programming skills are very dusty, I barely remember any of that. Current video card recommendations

If buying a $500 dollar vid card, I would ensure that it supported HDCP. Otherwise you are going to be SOL when you try and play Blu-Ray/HD-DVD on your PC via Vista (or so goes the current thinking). Of course if your monitor doesn't support it either, it may not be an issues for you.

What I'm not going to do tonight

Let me put my experience in: When I got married, and my wife and I put in all the paperwork to the INS (now USCIS), she had to sign an Affidavit of Support, which means that if I apply and get certain kinds of Federal benefits, she will be liable to pay back the costs. She will only be released...

    Reading Multiple Cards

I guess the question is will the Palm care or handle 20MB/sec? It's probably happy with 1MB/sec. Seems like if you can deal with the slightly slower speeds when uploading to the card, go with the cheapest you can find.

We are using three of them at work now (H8DCE) or something like that. Rock solid with dual Opteron 252s, and 4 TB of storage. Works lubbly with the Supermicro cases (except you can't use the plastic shrouds they include which only work with the Intel windtunnel HSFs).

    Samsung 204T versus Dell 2005FPW.

Problem is you can't feed the 3007 any component signals. So it can only be used in conjunction with a PC with dual link DVI. Limits it's applications for home-theatre. Even 1080p is going to look a little shitty at 2560*1600.

Coug: go for the Samsung vs the 2005FPW. More pixels, more screen area. The 2005 is very "short" with 1050 vertical pxels.
