I still have my ASUS transformer. I use it primarily as a digital knee-board for flying (charts, checklists, backup GPS, airport services directory, pilot's log, music, etc). I also use it as an e-reader from time to time.
It is enourmous for a preview, and yes I am trying to use something in a method other than directed, but it allows me to skip photo browsing programs altogether and go straight in to a RAW editor.
Monitor was calibrated this morning. You are right that it is closer to red, my brain just keeps disagreeing. I've been staring at paint samples for the house for a week and it seems to be malfunctioning.
That would be very time consuming, considering the other half of the time I am in Photoshop CS5, which is the reason I got the mondo monitor with the mondo resolution in the first place.
Now that windows can display RAW thumbnails correctly, just looking at the icons in explorer is good enough to cherry pick images. However, on this 30" monitor, even "Extra Large Icons" aren't that large. Anyone know of a way to increase that by 50-100%? I suspect it is in the registry somewhere...
That is a nice color. I won't be getting it (attracts too much attention), but it is very nice. My current car is "Meteor Grey" and I like that quite a bit. I suspect my next one will be white with a light colored interior.
I really do want that lens; it would have done great for the bike race last weekend as well. I also have some aerial photography (helicopter) coming up, and I think it would work well for that, too.
I do want one of those, but my money is currently tied up in the pursuit of an S4 and a GA pilot's license. I was honestly surprised at how well the 180 macro did; both from the field and the press box it was super sharp and about the right length. At f3.5 and ISO6400 I could manage 1/250 by...
Did my annual night football game tonight. Of course, it was super windy and drizzling/light rain the whole time. I hope the 7D&180/3.5 is moderately moisture resistant.
Nope. It has gotten to the point where I don't even ask anymore. If we are invited to dinner at someone's house, at some point in the evening I'll excuse myself and start cleaning up their computer. At some point the party will migrate to the den/office/whatever I am and the tech questions will...
I've gotten a bunch of decent job offers through LinkedIn, and a few friends got jobs there. The only messages I get are when people want me to link with them (this is obviously required for the service to work).
Ran support for a long bike ride yesterday and today. Both days started at 31F (plus wind chill of course) ~70 miles Sat, ~100 today, each with over 4500 feet of elevation change and both completed in under 6 hours.
To this exact exploit you are probably safe. But I would consider any device connected to a network that is not being actively monitored by up-to-date antivirus software as "vulnerable". Of course, there is nothing you can do, so just grin and carry on ;)
I didn't appreciate just how big the U3011 was until I put it next to the U2711b. When it was next to the Sharp 42" screen it seemed reasonable, now it is just insane.
Just for this test I put the key in the door for the first time. Hold it in the unlock position and it opens all the windows and cracks the sunroof. Hold it in lock and it closes everything and sets the alarm. Neat.
Yesterday I was feeling like a bit of a smart ass. When faced with something similar to Merc's experience above, my response was "well, if you are too old to learn something new, that Blackberry will do just fine for you." He was within a decade of me, so I figure it was ok.
I only have one Z68 board at the moment, and it hasn't been stable enough to even worry about RST. I haven't had a chance to troubleshoot it yet, but it won't even Prime95.
Oh, and I wasn't against 4 doors, I prefer 4 to 2, but I wanted a proper hatchback. The S5 is closer to it than the S4, but with that 4.2l V8 I think I'll pass.
Just tried it and no, but there is a company that flashes Audis and gives you things like that and remote start. I might be interested in such things. I'd need to look them up again.
Based on the A4 Avant. Higher ground clearance, wider track, more aggressive body kit (incl. skid plate)...
According to this, the Allroad will be the only A4 wagon in the US, they will be pulling the standard Avant completely. Pussies.
So the decision for me is back to Allroad or S4...
You can't really post too much information, can you? It is all relevant to a number of us who are planning on spending a stupid amount of money.
Both our cars have that, and it is programmable (intervals, etc) in the standard menu. Other neat options in there include whether to have the rear...
Thanks for the recommendations, they are pretty neat.
Found massive error on my part #1: I left the airline adapter (aka loudness filter) on, and that killed the sound altogether.
#2 was I just had it too quiet. I couldn't hear anything outside, and the mids and highs were perfect, but I had...
Anji by Chicken Shack sounds just awesome in the UE 10s, but more modern music with more of a low-end fails a bit. Is this a weakness of headphones in general? Of IEMs?
So much better looking, and more of a sleeper. Sigh.
I'm fairly certain all the S models here get a flat-bottomed steering wheel. I prefer it.
I would also love the seat extenders, but I hadn't heard about them.
I was just going back to the podcast/shocking reference above. There should be no electricity to the head, and there is likely not any uninsulated metal in the headphones.
