Jake, the 8500 AIW has pretty slow ram compared to the non AIW version. That said, the functionality of the video capturing / wireless remote makes it worth while anyway.

You could always use FrameMaker for long technical documents. The reason I still use Pagemaker for newsletter/brochure type output is because many printers are still stuck in the Mac era and cannot handle a Word or Publisher file.

If you are going to be doing lots of film scanning (especially large format) as well as reflective then have a look at the Epson 2450. That is a 1 gigabit + 8 * 10/100 port switch Doug, the true gigabit switches which have all gigabit ports are a bit more costly.

Just get a cheap Gigabit switch from Dell and you are cooking with gas :)
